Description London 2400 Operation Manual London 2400 FEATURES & BENEFITS: AC/DC TIG:  Welding of  all weldable metals including aluminum The adjustable AC output frequency allows the operator to focus the arc, minimizing the heat affected zone.  Advanced AC balance control helps maintain a sharp tungsten needle to precisely control the arc in the weld joint.  Pulse function:  during pulse welding, the welding current changes between output and peak current at the desired frequency. The longer the intervals, the less energy and heat is supplied to the workpiece Continuous output control: Focus the arc for different material thicknesses. Strong under heavy use: 200A in TIG mode & 170A in MMA mode .  2-stroke/4-stroke  (TIG): in 2-stroke mode, keep the torch button pressed while welding. The 4-stroke mode activates the welding process by pressing the torch once and ends it when pressing it again. MMA/electrodes/stick:  coated electrodes are used – in this process the electrodes are arc carriers and welding filler metal in one. Hotstart:  every time the welding machine is restarted, overcurrent is provided and thereby supports the ignition of the arc. Arc-Force:  Melted material is transferred more easily to the workpiece. Prevents the arc from extinguishing if this material causes contact between the electrode and the melt pool. Anti-stick:  automatically switches off the welding generator if the electrode sticks to the workpiece and needs to be removed by hand without damaging the electrode clamp. 9 storage spaces: Save individual welding parameter settings and easily use them for the next project!   London 2400 FEATURES: ▶ TIG SETTING POSSIBILITIES Below we will explain the setting options for TIG welding – the setting sequence can be found in the DISPLAY DETAILS (TIG). In our example we weld sheet steel with a thickness of 1.5mm. Please note that the welding parameters must always be individually adapted to your project. 1. Set the gas lead time (from 0.1 to 10 seconds), we choose 0.4 sec. Rule of thumb: 0.1 seconds per meter of hose package is a good basic setting. 2. Starting current: Adjustable between 10 and 200 amps, depending on the main current selected, in our example we choose 30 amps because we will be welding with 60 amps. This allows us to achieve “softer” ignition, which is particularly advantageous for thin sheets. ATTENTION: These settings are only active in 4-stroke mode. 3. Current rise time: Here we set the speed at which the device changes from the starting current to the main current. The adjustable range depends on the main current. In our case we choose 0.6 seconds. 4. Main current: Or welding current, which can be adjusted between 10 and 200 amps. In our case we choose 60 A. 5. Basic current: If we pulse, we can set a second current strength (lower one) here, whereby our welding current constantly changes between the main current and the basic current. The proportion can be determined. 7. Pulse frequency (Hz): normally the pulse frequency is in the range up to 10Hz. 6. Pulse duration: Is given as a percentage and defines the proportion of the main current compared to the base current. 8. Current reduction time: Here we determine the time interval in which we reduce the main current to the final current. We set this again to 0.6 seconds so that we prevent the formation of the final crater. 9. Final current: We choose 30A, the same value as our starting current. 10. Gas follow-up time: This is particularly important for stainless steel, as we achieve protected cooling of the weld pool on the workpiece. Our tungsten needle is also optimally cooled. 11. AC Balance: Relevant when welding aluminum with alternating current (AC). Here we regulate the time relationship between the positive and the negative half-wave. The display is displayed as a percentage. Reducing the balance leads to a higher penetration depth; increasing it improves the cleaning effect. 12. AC frequency: The frequency of the alternating current is set here. The frequency is displayed in Herz, adjustable between 10 and 200. This allows us to mainly influence the flow behavior of our weld pool. A higher frequency promotes a stable arc but reduces power resulting in a viscous bath. At a low frequency, the arc becomes less stable, but has high power and produces a thin bath, which allows us to weld thin sheets and fillet welds more quickly.
